Marsh Departure

USD1,440.00

A great blue heron leaves the marsh, pushing off from still water with a sudden, deliberate effort. The moment is brief—long legs trailing, wings working against the air as the surface below breaks and then settles again.

The painting focuses on this transition between stillness and motion, where the quiet of the marsh is briefly interrupted before returning to calm. As with much of my work, the emphasis remains on observing how animals move within their environment, attentive to water, light, and space rather than overdramatizing the scene.
