Daybreak at Sea

There is something sacred about sunrise at sea. During early morning walks on a recent Caribbean cruise, I would often carry my coffee to the outer deck and stand at the rail, watching light slowly break across the endless ocean. This painting was inspired by one of those unforgettable moments.

For me, every sunrise carries a spiritual reminder of renewal and grace. Lamentations 3:22-23 speaks of God's mercies being "new every morning," and each dawn feels like an invitation to begin again -- leaving yesterday's burdens behind. Psalm 19 reminds us that creation itself continually declares the glory of God, and this radiant sunrise felt like one of those moments when heaven and ocean joined in praise.

"Daybreak at Sea" is both a memory of peaceful mornings aboard ship and a celebration of hope, renewal, and the overwhelming beauty found in God's creation.
